Nancy L. Monaghan, 71, Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at a local hospital.
Nancy was born November 26, 1938 in Fresno, CA, the daughter of Mervin and Beth (Edgar) Shuman. She graduated from Hoover High School in San Diego in 1957.
Nancy was a homemaker and stay at home mother and later worked as a Bakery Manager at Shopper's Food Warehouse in Maryland. After retirement, she moved to Topeka to be closer to family and worked part time at Lowman Hill School serving lunches.
Nancy married Chad Olsen in 1958. They later divorced. She married William Monaghan in 1991. He died in 2005. Survivors include sons, Chad Olsen, Jr., Rainier, OR, Mark Olsen, Portland, OR, Anthony Olsen, Lusby, MD; daughter, Amy Olsen, Topeka; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Joann Petersen, Linda Burkett; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
