Nancy Sue (Scrinopskie) Epoch

Nancy Sue (Scrinopskie) Epoch, 67, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018.
She was born September 20, 1950, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of E. Leslie and Harriette (Spector) Scrinopskie.
She was a graduate of Topeka West High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Miami.
Nancy was a music educator for many years, teaching at schools in Syracuse, New York, Whitson Elementary School and Topeka West High School, where she retired in 2010.
She was a member and past board member of Temple Beth Sholom. She was also a past board member at the Ronald McDonald House. She served as a musical Director for Helen Hocker and Stephens College Lake Okoboji Summer Theatre. She was also active with Topeka Civic Theatre.
Nancy was an active supporter of Helping Hands Humane Society and Midland Hospice, where she was honored with the Legacy Circle Award. She loved her Kansas City Chiefs.
Survivors include a brother, Ron (Frayna) Scrinopskie, Topeka; niece, Kelsey Scrinopskie, Kansas City, MO; and nephew, Jared Scrinopskie, Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Barry and Evan Epoch.
No one has embraced life as fully as Nancy Sue or magnetically attracted so many people of every kind. She was full of fire and ambition yet also had a way of being the most kind and gentle person you'll ever know. She was direct and outspoken yet tactful. She was as full of wonder as she was of wisdom. Her loyalty was fierce and her laugh infectious. She spoke a colorful language all her own inspired by her vivid imagination that her niece Kelsey knows will be carried on by so many.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2018 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
