Cleora Nadyne Messer, 91, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Manor Care. She was born January 21, 1924 in Limon, Colorado, the daughter of Mike and Pearl (McLaughlin) Messer. She spent her childhood in the western Kansas community of Rexford, where she attended Rexford Public Schools. She worked for various families in Rexford and moved to Topeka in 1945 where she was employed by the Sargent family for several years before retiring in 2004.
She had two sisters, Juanita and Marjory, and four brothers, Bernard, Beauford, Mike, Jr. and Milford. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.
Nadyne was a very loving and caring person; her religion was a very important part of her life and she attended many church conventions to participate in worship and to be with friends. Two of her very close church friends where Martha and Gerald Florea who assisted her greatly in her last days. She also was very close to her family, in particular her nieces, Tammy Goldsworth, Judy Nelson, Carmen Vlahos, and Gina Witherspoon and nephew, Devron Dawes.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Friday, March 27 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, with the service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery.
