Nadine E. Coulter, 90, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013. She was born June 14, 1922 in Washington, KS, the daughter of Arch and Sue Welch. She married Glenn R. Coulter on June 8, 1952. He preceded her in death.
After graduation from Washington High School and Emporia State Teachers College, Nadine taught kindergarten at Potwin School in Topeka until 1954. In 1968 she began working during the legislative sessions for the Kansas House of Representatives. She retired in 1996.
Nadine was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church and a member of Chapter DV of PEO. Through the years she was an active volunteer for her church and community.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Steve) Zimmerman of Olathe, KS and two grandchildren, Sarah (David) Blakesley, Shawnee, KS, and Matthew Zimmerman, Nashville, TN.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 23 at First Presbyterian Church. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
