Myrtle Downs

Myrtle N. Downs, 93, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2005 at her residence. She was born on October 29, 1911 in Bruceville, Texas the daughter of Marion and Benita Killough Nix. She moved to Topeka in 1936. She was a librarian for Capper Junior High School. She was a member of the First Congregational Church. She married W.R. Downs on September 3, 1933 in Wichita, Ks. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Alan R. Downs of Aberdeen, Maryland, one daughter, Jean D. Bobick of Aurora, Colorado, three grandsons, David Parker of Phoenix, Arizona, James Bobick of New York, New York and Jeffrey R. Bobick of Austin, Texas. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
