Myrl Bloom, 76, of Topeka, died Friday, August 6, 2004 at her residence. She was born on September 14, 1927 on the Mojave Desert the daughter of Ephraim and Myrl Murray Harris. She grew up near Daggett, California. She lived her married life in Kansas. She was a homemaker and worked as a nurse aid for several years. She loved to garden and grew lots of flowers. She also collected cook books. She also loved her pets. She married Floyd Burton Bloom on December 1, 1944. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1968. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jack Dean Bloom on March 31, 1977. Survivors include her sister, Elva Newman of Independence, CA., four daughters, Sheryl Petry and her husband, Larry of Topeka, Roxy Corber of Scranton, Ks., Karen Mulanax and her husband, Bud of Hoyt, Ks., Tara Bloom of Topeka, three sons, Steven Bloom of Kansas, Dana Bloom and his wife, Dianna of Tecumseh, Mark Bloom of Washington, sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Cremation took place. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday evening at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private inurnment will take place in Rochester Cemetery.
