Muriel Clarke

Muriel H. Clarke, 97, of Topeka, died Wednesday, June 14 at Brewster Place Retirement Home.

She was born November 22, 1908 in Topeka, the daughter of Harry and Alice Frances (Cooper) Hobson.

She attended Topeka High School and Washburn College and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.

Married to Ross Clarke, December 20, 1929, they lived in La Grange Park, Illinois until his death in 1960.

Mrs. Clarke returned to live in Topeka and became a member of Grace Episcopal Cathedral. She was a member of the Mulvane Art Museum Board, Kappa Alpha Theta Alumni Board, Washburn University Alumni Board and Board of Trustees. She also served on the Brewster Place Foundation Board.

Survivors include a daughter, Constance C. Yoxall and her husband James of Liberal, KS; two grandchildren, Richard Yoxall of Liberal and Bonnie Frederick of Lenexa, KS; two great grandchildren, Ashlee Renee Yoxall and Logan James Yoxall and one great great grandchild, Zander Darius Baker.

Funeral services for Mrs. Clarke will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 17 at the Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel, 4700 SW. 17th St., with burial to follow in the cemetery.
