Monica was born March 23, 1974, in Hutchinson, KS, to Keith and Paula Clements, was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. As the first of four children, Monica was a bright and joyful child who grew up in the home her parents purchased in Sterling, KS, where she made lasting memories and friendships.
In 1991, the Clements family relocated to Burlington, KS, where Monica met and married Jason Wollum. Together, they had two sons, Tyler and Ryan Wollum, who were the center of her world. Monica’s love for her sons was unwavering, and she supported and nurtured them as they grew into adulthood. In 2020, Monica had the honor of watching her son Tyler marry Brianna Wollum.
Monica’s passion for helping others led her to pursue a nursing degree from Graceland University, which she completed in 2007. She worked for a hospice group in Leavenworth, KS, before taking on the role of Director of Primary Care at Stormont Vail Hospital from 2018 to 2023. In August 2023, Monica became the Director of Physician Clinics at The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus, where she continued to make a positive impact until her passing. Monica was admired for her warm personality and inspiring presence, and she formed meaningful connections with everyone she encountered.
Monica was preceded in death by paternal grandparent Virgil & Doris Clements, Haviland KS; maternal grandmother Ardath Avery, Hutchinson KS; niece Norah Jane Fehringer, Pierce NE; father, Keith Clements, Tecumseh NE; beloved aunt Cynthia Moore, Lyndon KS; and cousin Jeff Moore, Hutchinson KS. Monica is survived by son Tyler and his wife Brianna Wollum, Ankeny IA and son Ryan Wollum, Topeka KS; mother, Paula Clements, Tecumseh NE; Brother Brad and his wife Heather Clements, nephews Ethan & Brady Clements, nieces Kaitlyn & AddyMae Clements, Tecumseh NE; sister Anna and husband Ben Fehringer, nephews Jeremy & Matthew, Wood River NE; and brother Chris Clements, his fiancé Marissa Mark, & nephews Kelvin Clements & Maddox Mark, Lincoln NE; many cousins, aunts, uncles, loving friends, and work family.
Monica’s infectious smile, loving nature, and devotion to her family and friends will forever be remembered. She is deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
