Mina P. Adams, 92, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012.
Mina was born Nov. 14, 1920, in Catesby, OK, to Robert Dyral & Nellie Frances Lightfoot Baker.
She was united in marriage to Donald Wayne Adams on Mar. 31, 1940. During their 60 years of marriage, they lived in Galesburg, Parsons, and 56 years on the family farm NW of Altamont.
Mina worked at Fred Ronalds Manufacturing of Parsons as floor supervisor and engineer until they closed in 1985. She moved to Topeka in Dec. 2001, residing at McCrites Plaza since Aug. 2011.
She was an avid bowler, sang in the Shawnee Choral Society, and was active in ABW and West Side Baptist Church. Mina was a former member, organist and Sunday School teacher of First Baptist Church of Altamont.
Mina is survived by her two daughters, Crystal (Harold) Wolgast and Rita Adams, Topeka; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brother, Kenneth Baker, Bartlesville, OK; and numerous other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Betty Davidson, and daughter, Peggy Masenthin.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at West Side Baptist Church, 4th & Fillmore, Topeka.Graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Altamont, KS. A reception will follow at First Baptist Church, Altamont.
Mina will lie in state after 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to West Side Baptist Church, Topeka.
