Milo Jack Heatwole, 83, died September 8, 2003 at his home.
He was cremated. Milo Heatwole was born June 12, 1920 to Harry George and Ophelia L. Brondel Heatwole in Pittsburg, Kansas. He was an only child.
Milo attended the public schools in Pittsburg, Kansas and upon completion of high school attended West Point Military Academy two years. He returned to Pittsburg and joined the Naval Air Corps where he was a pilot. During this time he attended Kansas State Teacher's College where he earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Vocational Education. Milo was a member of the Pittsburg Masonic Lodge # 187 AF&AM for over 50 years.
On August 31, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri he married Cleo Markwith of Lamar, Missouri. Cleo preceded Milo in death, passing away October 22, 1997.
In 1956 they moved to Topeka where he started his teaching career as an automotive instructor at Highland Park High School. In 1968 he moved to Kaw Area Vocational Technical School and taught until his retirement in 1989.
Milo is survived by his brother-in-law Jim Markwith, sister-in-law Donna Markwith, nephew Mark Lee, nieces Rosemary Levra and Carol Carlisle, cousins Helen Blair, Bill Blair and Dian Blair.
A memorial service will be held at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th, Topeka, Kansas 66604 on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be made to K.A.T.S. for the automotive program in Milo's home. Online condolences may be made at www.penwellgabel.com.
