Mildred Inez Williams, 93, Topeka, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at a local care center.
Mildred was born May 11, 1912 in Winfield, the daughter of John Paul and Marie Anna (Zeien) Wise. Her parents operated a restaurant in Winfield where she worked in her youth. She graduated from Winfield High School.
She later moved to Chanute and helped her husband in the General Novelty Company until 1972 when they retired.
Mildred married John M. Williams on October 13, 1934 in Winfield. He died August 24, 1984. Survivors include a daughter; Sharon Jones and husband, Allen of Topeka; grandchildren, Christina Jones, Ottawa, David Ingels, Chanute, Marc and Dawn Jones, Roswell, GA, Michelle and Scott DeWalt, Houston, TX, Dave and Susan Jones, Shepherd, TX; nieces; Judy Kubler, Iola, Jan Kovacic, Chanute, Margaret Showalter, Arkansas City; nephews, Roger Williams, Winfield, Bruce Williams, Topeka, and many great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at the Highland Cemetery in Winfield.
