Mildred L. Toomey
Mildred Lorraine Toomey, 85, Topeka, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Clare Bridge of Topeka.
She was born March 4, 1924 in Benedict, ND, the daughter of Theodore and Ellen Johnson Lattimore. She graduated from Moorhead, MN High School and had lived in Topeka since 2004.
Most of her professional career was spent as a bookkeeper.
Mrs. Toomey was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Moorhead. Her husband, Donald Toomey, died June 16, 1994.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis (Dwight) Nichols of Topeka; her sister, Myrtle Paranto of Fargo, ND; two grandsons, Zeb M. Morton and Zak L. Morton, both of Greenville, SC, and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Toomey donated her body to the University of Kansas Medical Center for research. Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
