Mildred Ice Lambert

Mildred M. Ice Lambert, 84, of Topeka, passed away, Monday, November 20, 2006 at Stormont-Vail Hospital.

She was born May 4, 1922 in Vermillion, Kansas the daughter of Forrest and Alice Mae Noble. She was the second child of seven in the Noble family. She was a graduate of Holton High School. She was a longtime Tecumseh resident prior to moving to Topeka.

Mildred married Wayne N. Ice November 14, 1948 in Topeka. He preceded her in death April 29, 1981. She married Thomas H. Lambert March 20, 1986. He preceded her in death January 5, 2006.

She was employed as a telephone operator, legal secretary, and retired from the federal government in 1984.

Mildred was a former member of Tecumseh United Methodist Church and presently a member of First Congregational Church. She was a charter member of the Shawnee Boat and Ski Club and the Women's Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy D. Cooper, Tecumseh and Connie S. Ice, Topeka; step children, Judy Lambert, Janice Millburn, and James Lambert; two sisters, Joan Smith, Gladys Glasser; one brother, Burton Noble, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, four step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson Cory Cooper.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2006 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Lambert will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. that evening.
