Mildred P. Ging, 85, Topeka, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Aldersgate Village. She was born in Nortonville, KS August 31, 1922 the daughter of Harry and Edna (Camblin) Hamon.
Mildred was a member of Gage Park Baptist Church. She volunteered for St. Francis Hospital and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Larned, KS.
Mildred married James Svojtek who was killed during WW II. She later married Earnest Babin. They divorced. She married James H. Ging who preceded her in death in 1970. She married Russell Gilbert. They later divorced.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, James Kenneth Sutton and two step sons, LeRoy and Larry Ging. Survivors include her daughter Camille P. Sutton and her husband Robert, Topeka; two grandsons, Andrew M. Sutton and his wife Tonia, Berryton, KS; Jared N. Rudy and his wife Emily, Tecumseh, KS; three great grandchildren, Michael R. Sutton, Allison
M. Sutton and Carli Jo F. Sutton.
Mildred will lie in state beginning 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. The family will greet friends from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., Monday, the 28th. Graveside services will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha, KS, Tuesday the 29th at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Road, Topeka, 66617.
