Mildred "Millie" Aileen Carlson Collie, 88, was born December 14, 1932 in Topeka, Kansas to Victor Rueben Adolf Carlson and Ada Aileen Skidmore Carlson. Millie passed to her eternal home February 22, 2021.
Millie grew up in Topeka, attending Potwin Grade School, Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from Topeka High School in 1951. She worked at Hallmark Cards and retired as Manager of Satellite Food Services at Chase Middle School for Topeka Public Schools. Millie was a charter member of Auburndale Nazarene Church. She attended the First Church of the Nazarene.
Millie married Merton Dale Collie December 2, 1955. He passed away December 11, 2015 in Topeka. Surviving are a son Jack Eugene Collie (Leta) and a daughter Debra Kay Collie Heston (Fred), 3 grandchildren, Adrienne Collie Olejnik (Neil), Nicole Heston Tannehill (Adam) and Andrew Collie (Robin) and two great-granddaughters, Grace and Reese Olejnik. Also surviving are 5 nieces and 4 nephews, along with a host of friends and extended family.
Preceding Millie in death was granddaughter Kelsey Leigh Heston in 2010 and her siblings: Margarett Ruth Carlson Mize, Victor Leroy Carlson, Naomi Marie Carlson Brookens, Isabell Ina Carlson Jackson, Roberta Jean Carlson Kirk, Betty Jane Carlson Swaim, Lois Doreen Carlson Cooper, Harriet Florence Carlson Taylor, Robert Erwin Carlson and Donald Eugene Carlson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 6-8 pm at Penwell Gabel Midtown Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Street, Topeka, Kansas. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at First Church of the Nazarene, 1001 SW Buchanan St, Topeka, KS. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery Topeka, KS.
