Mildred Anita Falley, 89, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday July 1, 2009 at her home.
She was born February 12, 1920 in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of George I. and Alma Streeter Ireland. Anita was a graduate of Topeka High School.
Anita was formerly a member of Seabrook United Church of Christ. She is currently a member of First Congregational Church and a 50 year member of Helena Chapter #210 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a friend of Bill W. for 39 years.
She married Melvin L. Falley September 10, 1939. He preceded her in death January 15, 1996. Survivors include her son, Mike Falley and his wife Beverly, Lawrence, KS; her daughter, Nancy Sue Anderson and her husband Dana, Los Angeles, CA; her brother, George M. Ireland, Phoenix, AZ; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Falley will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday July 6, 2009 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. that evening. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational Church. Burial will follow at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care Connection or to First Congregational Church.
