Mildred A. Ozaki, 82, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013. She was born November 27, 1930, in Gotebo, OK, the daughter of Lloyd and Geneva Venard Romary. She graduated from Lebo High School. She later graduated from Stormont-Vail School of Nursing in Topeka where she was a member of the first graduating class in 1952.
Mildred was a Surgical Nurse for St. Francis Hospital before retiring on September 1, 1986. She was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.
Mildred married Fred Ozaki on April 18, 1953 in Wamego, KS. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1997. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her children, Linda Ozaki of Bettendorf, IA, David Ozaki and Sharon McDaniels, both of Topeka, three grandchildren, Kelly McDaniels, JR McDaniels and Dana McDaniels, two great-grandchildren, Kaylin McDaniels and Jadyn Baum, and her brother, Tom Romary of Burlington, KS.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 1821 S.W. 37th St., Topeka, KS 66611. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting the family.
