Michael J. Slansky, 56, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, Dec. 10 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
He was born Nov. 17, 1950 in Stockton, the son of Earl and Norma (Knight) Slansky, and grew up in Leonardville.
Michael was in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam for one year.
He was employed as a meat cutter in Nebraska until he became disabled.
Michael married Vicky Schibbelhut on October 16, 1992 in Miami, OK. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Cecilia Rosentreader; sons, Steven Schibbelhut, Jeffrey Schibbelhut; sisters, Tonleia Coltharp, Altamae Sloan, Jennie Murrillo, Margaret Bonura; and brothers, Simon Asebedo, Roy Asebedo, Phil Asebedo and Ed Asebedo and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, and two nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
