Michael R. Jones, 53, Topeka, formerly of Omaha, NE., passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2005 at a local hospital.
Michael was born January 15, 1952 in Redbud, IL, the son of Merlin and Pauline Rothwell Jones.
He served in the U.S. Army. Michael was employed by Sub Zero Transportation in Omaha.
Michael was a beloved son, brother, husband and father.
He married Dixie Brault on July 7, 1986. She survives. Other survivors include sons; Nicholas and Anthony both of Omaha, NE, grandchildren; Sean, Dylan, Andrew, Mari, Jaron, Jade, and Jakob ; his father, Merlin Jones and step mother, Carolyn, and brothers, Brian and Scott Jones, Roger and Dennis Boyce all of Omaha; sisters, Margaret Smith, Oklahoma City, OK, Kathy Dilling, Marysville, CA, Cheryl Nearing, Post Falls, ID, and Debbie Vesper, Audubon, IA, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends and his beloved dog Porker.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery. Michael will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
