Michael "Poppy" Jaimez, 44, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019.
He was born April 20, 1975, in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of Michael Deere and Alice (Gauna) Galindo. He went to Topeka High School.
He was a man that brightened up the room whenever he walked in with his great sense of humor. He would give anything to help those around him who were in need. You could always go to him if you needed someone to lean on.
He was known as the jack of all trades; talents ranging from his glass artwork to his amazing cooking. His best dish was mole and you could find him in the kitchen for all family events, serving his delicious food.
Above all else, he loved his family. He loved his nieces and nephews as his own and had a special place in his heart for his grandma. He will be truly missed for his big heart.
Survivors include his children, Michael Deere Jaimez, Jr., Stacy Deere Jaimez, Samantha Deere Jaimez (Ruben) and Fernando Alvarez; mother, Alice (Julio) Galindo; sisters, Melissa Thoms (Brett), Selena Jaimez (Mark Calloway) and Juanita Galindo (Jose); fiancée, Linda Lovell; 5 grandchildren, 16 nieces and nephews and his maternal grandma, Juana Barajas. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Deere.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am., Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 201 NE Chandler, Topeka, Kansas 66616. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses, please make checks payable to Selena Jaimez.
