Mia Sachie Miyamoto, 16, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
She was born May 11, 2000, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Kurt Miyamoto and Amy McGivern. She was a junior at Hayden High School where she played on the soccer team and was the manager of the girls basketball team. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
She is survived by her parents, Amy McGivern, Topeka and Kurt Miyamoto, Tempe, AZ; sister, Jayde Miyamoto, Topeka; grandparents, Jack and Margie McGivern and Alvah Miyamoto, Hilo, HI; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and her best friend, Hallie Head, Topeka.
Mia enjoyed playing soccer, attending Hayden High School, supporting Hayden activities, spending time with friends and family and loved her puppy. She was the bravest of the brave and fought with such beautiful grace.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2017, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3601 SW 17th Street, Topeka. Private burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm Sunday with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. at the church.
