Merle Lowe

Merle Edward Lowe, 48, of Topeka, passed away Monday March 13, 2006 at Midland Hospice House.

He was born September 8, 1957 in Topeka, the son of Bert Clifford and Betty May Brault Lowe.

He spent his childhood in Carbondale and graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School. He worked for the State of Kansas Dept. of Administration as a carpenter for 13 years, 9 of which were at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, and four years in Topeka. He was an avid walleye fisherman and loved the outdoors. He met the love of his life, Mary Jo Grooms, in December, 2002.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Andrea Rae Lowe; a son, Travis Eugene Lowe; a brother, Ralph Eugene Lowe, sister, Kandis Jeannette Avers, all of Topeka, and his fiance, Mary Jo Grooms, Silver Lake.

Mr. Lowe will lie after 1:00 pm , Friday March 17 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town where the family will greet friends from 6-7:30 pm that evening. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 am, Saturday, March 18 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
