Merla M. Rogers, 88, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016.
She was born October 24, 1928, in Marysville, Kansas, the daughter of Albert and Christine (Lehenbauer) Rettig. She graduated from Topeka High School.
Merla was an office manager with Dr. Theodore E. Young for 25 years.
Mrs. Rogers was a lifetime member St. John's Lutheran Church where she served as treasurer on the Women's League and bowled in the Lutheran Women's Bowling League.
Merla married C. Dale Rogers on March 24, 1949 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Norbert.
Survivors include their children: Sandra L. Coultis (Lloyd), Charles Dale "Chuck" Rogers, Jr. (Beverly) and Todd R. Rogers (Joyce), all of Topeka; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Hamilton, Silver Lake and numerous nieces and nephews.
Merla enjoyed spending time at the cabin and loved her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafting.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2016 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore, Topeka with services to follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.
