Merilee Jean Meier, 59, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021.
She was born October 17, 1961, in Creston, Iowa, the daughter of Ina Mae "Red" Mullinix. She attended Shawnee Heights High school for 3 years, where she participated in numerous sporting activities. She was a member of the Drill Team as a Twirler and performed during sporting events. She graduated from Arkoma High School in Arkoma, Oklahoma in 1980.
Merilee was a clerk in medical records at St. Francis Hospital for over 20 years and was also a favored waitress at the Topeka Steak House.
Survivors include her sons, Nicholas R. Earling and Benjamin W. Earling; granddaughter, Victoria Earling; grandson, Brooks Earling; seven siblings, Judy (Richard) Maxwell, Barbara (Mike) Johnson, Kathy (Mike) Fritch, Tim Meier, Dave (Karen) Rains, Ginger Rodriguez, and Ed Pranker; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Ina Mae "Red" Mullinix.
Merilee was very fun-loving with a great sense of humor. She always made everyone smile and will be dearly missed by those who loved her.
Visitation will be 5pm-7pm, Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11am, Monday, August 23, 2021 at the funeral home.
