Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother Merideth M. (Nicholson) Byler, died peacefully at Brewster in Topeka, KS on November 11, 2020 at the age of 88.
She was born on June 5, 1932 in Webb City, MO. She graduated Webb City High School in 1950. She married Kenneth O. Byler, her high school sweetheart, on October 22, 1950. Merideth was proud mom and grandma, not only to her family, but to numerous children that she cared for through her in home daycare. She was affectionately known as Mimi to all. She was an incredible cook and could bake the best cherry pie around; keeping all her recipes in her head. She enjoyed dressing up and going places, especially shopping. Merideth enjoyed music, always playing the piano with joy, and teaching her family one-by-one to sing along. She was a loyal member of Wanamaker Wood Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her children, Kathy (Rob) Morris - Topeka, KS, Christy (Dan) Sublett - Hot Springs, AR, Barbara (Brad) Renner - Topeka, KS, and Laurel (Tim) Iwig - Tecumseh, KS; grandchildren Ben Blackwood - Oklahoma City, OK, Melissa (Jeff) Boyer - Topeka, KS; Michael (Linda) Mattox - Auburn, NE; Bruce (Amanda) Blackwood - Moore, OK, Geoff (Kristy) Morris - Topeka, KS, Sara Rivera - Topeka, KS, Steven Morris - Topeka, KS, Corey Sublett - El Dorado, AR, Christopher Sublett - Fayetteville, AR, Courtney Iwig - Tecumseh, KS, Chelsea Iwig-Hughes (Mike Hughes) - Seabrook, TX, Cian Renner - Topeka, KS, Samuel Iwig - Utica, MN; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and her brother-in-law, Tommy Byler - Sherman, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth O. Byler and grandson, Andrew G. Byler.
Merideth will lie in state after 12 noon Friday, November 13, 2020 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
