Mercedes Aileen Huey, 94, of Topeka, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011.
She was born January 4, 1917 in Osawatomie, Kansas to George Bower and Ada Jeannette (Carrico) Bosley. She was a graduate of Odessa Missouri High School. She resided in Topeka since in 1939.
She was a pianist and taught piano lessons.
She was a long time resident of Presbyterian Manor, where she was known and loved by everyone.
Mercedes married James Clements. He preceded her in death. She married Ward H. Huey on January 11, 1976 in Topeka. He preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Rose Huey, Monroe, MI.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Mrs. Huey will lie in state from Noon to 5 p.m., today at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th, Topeka. A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Jellison Chapel at Presbyterian Manor, Topeka.
