Maxine Vaughn
Maxine B. Vaughn, 86, of Topeka, passed away, Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Aldersgate Village, Topeka.
She was born September 21, 1918 in Osage City, Kansas the daughter of Alfred M. and Nettie Evans Allegre. Maxine was a graduate of Osage City High School. She resided in Osage City until coming to Topeka in 1972.
Maxine was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Topeka, the American Legion Auxiliary, Osage City, and a former member of the Osage City Presbyterian Church.
She married Loren Williams in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1969. She married Elton Vaughn in 1972. They later divorced. Survivors include two nieces, Susan(Kirk) McQuiston, Lowell, IN; Laurnet (Scott)Spalding, Maquoketa, IA and one sister in law Mildred Allegre, Crown Point, IN.
Funeral services will be 9:00am Saturday, August 13, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will be in the Osage City Cemetery. Mrs. Vaughn will lie in state and the family will greet friends from 7:00pm until 9:00pm Friday at the funeral home.
