Maxine Marie Lovorn, 93, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Midland Hospice House.
Maxine was born June 5, 1922, in Belton, TX, to Curtis and Ruby (Smith) Latham. Maxine married Roy T. Lovorn on November 5, 1938, in Belton, TX. She was a past member of the First Baptist Belton in TX and was currently a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Topeka, KS. Maxine and Roy moved to Topeka in 1993.
She is survived by her daughter, Juanita Powell of Topeka, KS; two granddaughters, Rebecca (Steve) Larson of Topeka and Priscilla (Christopher) Roberts of Auburn, KS; one grandson, Chris (Melodie) Powell of Topeka, KS; twenty one great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Roy T. Lovorn in 2001, and one infant son, Roy Curtis Lovorn in 1953.
A funeral ceremony will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at First Southern Baptist Church, 1912 SW Gage, Topeka, KS. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at a later date at North Belton Cemetery, Belton, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Southern Baptist Church.
