Maurice Eldon Goslin passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015, while a resident at Rolling Hills Health and Rehab in Topeka.
Maurice "Moe" was born June 27, 1929, to Hillary Goslin and Flora Cadue Goslin in Brown County near Horton, Kansas. He married Rachel Faye Hawkins of Hanna, Oklahoma, on June 27, 1950.
Maurice was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel, on August 18, 1995; infant son, Duane Eldon Goslin; and adult son, Maurice "Joe" Goslin, II.
Maurice attended Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas, from 1946-1949. On June 1, 1952, Maurice received his Apprenticeship as a Plasterer from the State of Kansas, Department of Labor. He owned and operated Goslin & Sons Drywall from May 1977 until October 2001.
Maurice received his Honorable Discharge on April 28, 1948, from the United States Coast Guard, having enlisted March 6, 1947. Maurice was a member of West Side Baptist Church in Topeka and a member of the Kickapoo Tribe of Kansas.
Maurice is survived by son, Douglas Goslin (Beverly Jackson) of Mayetta, daughter, Elaine Goslin (Kevin Pokorney) of Rossville, daughter, Faye Goff (Jim Goff), and son, Evan Goslin of Topeka. Maurice had 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Kennekuk Cemetery near Horton, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to West Side Baptist Church, 1008 SW 4th Street, Topeka, KS 66606.
