Mary Thomas Brown, 82, of Topeka passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2005.
Mrs. Brown was born February 25, 1922 in Sullivan County, Missouri, the daughter of John Samuel and Wilma Lucille Triplett Thomas. She grew up on a farm near Harris, MO. and attended Business college in Chilicothe, MO.
She worked for Pratt & Whitney during WWII and had been an Executive secretary for Studabaker-Packard Corporation.
She married Dr. Roy L. Brown on July 28, 1956. He passed away February 26, 1993. She served as his office manager and assistant for several years. One of her greatest enjoyments was spending time at their summer home in Michigan with their children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Brown was a member of Central Park Christian Church, Chapter DV of P.E.O., and held numerous offices for the Kansas Association of Osteopathic Medicine Auxillary.
Survivors include two sons: Dr. H. Thomas Brown, Santa Barbara, CA; Thomas L. Brown, Basehor, KS and a daughter: Belinda Brown McPherson, Topeka, KS.; Seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M., on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Mrs. Brown will lie in state after 12:00 noon on Monday, where visitation will be from 7:00 - 8:30 P.M. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
