Mary Lucille (Lou) Roche (Melton)

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Mary Lucille Roche, 52, of Delia, Kansas on Friday April 11th, 2025. Mary was born October 10th, 1972, in Kansas City, Kansas to parents Lawrence and Elsie Melton. Her family later moved to Sylvia, Kansas where she was raised. Mary attended Fairfield Schools from 1988-1991. She later completed her associate’s degree in medical administration from Bryan University in 2016. On October 15, 2017, she married the love of her life, Brady Roche.

Mary dedicated her career to serving her community through numerous meaningful roles including Jeffery Energy Center, Puffy’s Steakhouse, and Wamego Hospital. Most recently, Mary served as a project manager at the Federal Building, where she was known for her leadership, organization, and steadfast commitment to her work. Her colleagues admired her professionalism and her unwavering attention to detail. Throughout her career, Mary was respected not only for her abilities, but for the kindness and integrity she brought to every role, as well as her humor and orneriness.

Mary had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life — from early mornings spent exploring garage sales and thrift stores, to peaceful evenings driving the backroads just to see where they’d lead. She was also a lover of crafts, Friday night Bingo, and spending time camping at the lake. But above all, she cherished the time spent with family, especially her grandchildren, who brought endless joy and laughter into her life.

She is survived by her husband Brady Roche, children David Brumbaugh, Melissa Greeno, Dakota Cox, Jacob Seidl, Nicole Seidl, Dee Glotzbach, Mitchell Roche, and Colby Roche. Grandchildren Tessa, Kaydance, Holden, Emmie. Brothers Larry (Liz) Melton, Ron Stanley, Michael Cramer, and John (Linda) Melton, sisters Yvonne Savner, Katie Malkames, Lori Corbin. Mother-in-law Sue Roche, brother-in-law Derek Roche, sisters-in-law Becky Roche, Tara Cunningham, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dave Melton, Roy Melton, and Bill Melton, sisters Kathy Mattila, Harriett Stanley, and Betty Ann McLaughlin, Father-in-Law Steve Roche.
