Mary Josephine Cutler Pietch, 91, of Topeka, died May 8,2006.
She was born August 23, 1914 in Milwaukee, WI to Manuel and Mary Cutler. After her marriage to Donald W. Pietch, they had a son, Joseph Cutler Pietch, before they divorced. Her son died in 1977.
Mary graduated from Carroll College, Waukesha, WI and pursued a variety of occupations, including camp bugler, stenographer, secretary, bomb parts assembler and inspector, and pre-employment interviewing and job placement. She ended her career by serving 22 years as a school teacher and librarian with the Milwaukee Public Schools.
Mary lived in Milwaukee; Iron Mountain, MI; and Muskogee, OK before coming to join her brother, nephew and their families in Topeka.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Marian Cutler, nephew Bill Cutler, his wife Elizabeth Suter, and their daughter Antoinette Cutler.
The family extends a special thanks to all the staff and fellow residents of Topeka Presbyterian Manor for the quality care and friendly environment she enjoyed there.
Following cremation, a private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
