Mary Jane Oberhelman

Mary Jane Oberhelman, 83, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

Mary Jane was born December 2, 1937 in Pawnee City, Nebraska, the daughter of Dwight and Nola (Clelland) Glenn. She graduated from Washburn Rural High School.

She was employed by I-70 Auto Auction retiring in 2020.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and spent numerous summers at the ball park coaching, umpiring and running tournaments for the Amateur Softball Association.

She enjoyed watching and attending sports events, especially her beloved Kansas City Royals.

Mary Jane married Norman Oberhelman on April 1, 1977. He died December 8, 2005. Survivor include a son, Mike (Gayle) Beatty, son, Mark (Robin) Beatty, daughter, Melanie Oberhelman, daughter Sandra (Mark) Leidig, son, Wade (Sophia) Oberhelman, son, Kent Oberhelman, daughter Twila (Frank) Schneider and daughter Syndie (Chris) Boyd. Grandchildren include Erin (Mark) Broeske, Tyler (Brooke) Beatty, Rebecca Oberhelman, Kevin Beatty, Megan (Joshua) Briscoe, Bren Schneider, Erika Oberhelman, Alec Oberhelman, Weston Grant, Mikayla (Zach) Abrams, Kira Oberhelman, Anka Oberhelman, Olivia Oberhelman and Lucia Oberhelman. Great grandchildren include Kasi Oberhelman, Morgan Heller, Aliya Wisell, Mae and Henry Broeske, Paisley and Presley Beatty, Samuel and Bethany Briscoe and Ella Oberhelman. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dwight Glenn and her sister Leona Bleier and brother Gary Glenn.

Private family graveside services will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Snyder's Cabin at Gage Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family for her memorial fund.
