Mary Margaret Humphrey passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the age of 97. Mrs. Humphrey was born in Davenport, Nebraska, the daughter of R.V. and Kathyrn Tye.
Her early life was spent in Hanover, Kansas where she graduated from Hanover High School. She was a reporter at Munger's Hanover Herald newspaper.
She enjoyed baking, especially banana bread and buttermilk fudge. Mary was a member of the Evangelical church.
Mary moved to Topeka, Kansas in 1936 and was married to the late Elbert Humphrey.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (James) Smith, Overland Park, KS and Dee Ann Boydston, Topeka; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel on Tuesday, November 12.
A private graveside service will be held at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
