Mary Louise Boyd Railsback, 82, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at a Topeka retirement center. She was born on December 18, 1924 in Stafford, the daughter of Dr. Ernest E. and Ruth Milton Boyd. She graduated from Stafford High School, Cottey College for Women in Nevada, MO, Kansas State University and the Mayo Clinic School of Physical Therapy. She later received a Master of Arts Degree from Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA. Her professional experience as a Registered Physical Therapist was at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, Grace Hospital, Hutchinson, the Crippled Childrens' Hospital, Phoenix, AZ, Baylor University Hospital in Dallas, TX, Colorado Springs, CO. Medical Center, Eugene Talmadge Hospital in Augusta, GA and the San Mateo, CA. Rehabilitation Center. Mary Lou was married to Ned Railsback, a farmer-stockman of Langdon, KS on January 6, 1962. Following his death in 1984, she moved to Topeka. For twelve years, she worked as a legislative secretary for the State of Kansas. She was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church where she had served as a Deacon, Chapter GK, P.E.O., Kappa Kappa Gamma and the Western Hills Golf Association. Survivors include three step-children, Nancy Schwanke of Scott City, Cynthia Railsback of Aurora, CO, David Railsback, and three step-grandchildren, Kim Bergman, Jason Schwanke, Mark Railsback and one step-great-grandchild, Emily Bergman. Mary was preceded in death by one step-son, Robert Railsback and one sister, Virginia Rogers. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2007 at the Stafford Cemetery, Stafford, KS. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4746 S.W. 21st St., Topeka, KS 66604, Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 N.W.
