Mary Lou Lewis, 82, Auburn, formerly of Harveyville, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010 at her residence.
Mary Lou was born February 10, 1928 in Bogard, MO, the daughter of Aubyn and Mary Ella (Smith) Carter. She graduated from Marceline High School.
She married Carol "Sam" Lewis on September 5, 1964 in Marceline, MO. Together they owned an operated Stoffle Meat Company in Topeka for 34 years.
She was a member of Grace Episcopal Cathedral, the Sewing Ladies and "Golden Girls" of Arab Shrine Temple.
Survivors include daughter, Cheryl Worcester, Columbus, IN; son, Shane Lewis, Auburn, grandchildren; Chris Stone, Lauren, Samuel and Isaac Worcester, April and Jordan Lewis; and sister, Nona Toy. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992, and sister, Marion Austin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Inurnment will be in the Grace Episcopal Cathedral Columbarium. Mary Lou will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Monday and visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
