Mary Linn Kelley, 65, of Topeka, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010.
She was born July 21, 1944 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter Reno E. and Beulah L. (Bethel) Bruns. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Emporia State University, receiving a Master's Degree in Elementary Education, later receiving certification in Library Sciences.
She taught at Waverly, Sabetha and Topeka, USD 437. She was employed for several years at the Family Service and Guidance Center, Topeka. She was to retire from USD 437 on Friday, May 28, 2010.
She was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the KNEA, serving on the Uniserve Board and was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mary Linn married Graham R. Kelley on May 31, 1966 in Lawrence, KS. He survives. Other survivors include her son, Michael G. (Jessica) Kelley, Kerrville, TX; her granddaughter, Savannah Kelley and her mother, Misty Kelley, San Antonio, TX; and her brother, Jerry D. (Sharon) Bruns, Highland, KS.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Rd, Topeka, KS 66611. Cremation will follow the service. Mrs. Kelley will lie in state after 3 p.m., Monday, at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Public Library, 1515 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604 .
