Mary Linda Douglass

Mary Linda Douglass, 76, Carbondale, died Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

She was born March 23, 1931, in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Charles George Dodds and Mary Truman Wilson-Dodds. She spent most of her early life in Topeka and graduated from Topeka High School in 1949.

She was married to Laurance Reeves Douglass June 24, 1949. They moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1959 and returned to Topeka in 1966 where they owned and operated Douglass Pest Control. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1983.

She was a very active member of United Church of God with her faith providing great joy and peace. She was also a member of the North Topeka "Y" where she enjoyed aquatic classes for many years.

Survivors include three daughters, Lorraine Rowe, Holton, KS; Shelli Ohlsen and Janiece Hernandez both of Topeka; two sons, Jeff Douglass, Topeka, and Christopher Douglass, Great Falls, Montana; a sister, Norma DeGraff, Omaha, NE; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many dear friends.

Memorial Services will be at 9 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Inurnment will take place at a later time.
