Mary Lee Maddux

Mary Lee Maddux, 82, of Topeka, passed away, Friday, April 22, 2005 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was born October 20, 1922 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma the daughter of Thomas Lee and Clara Barton McKibbon Miller.
She graduated from Topeka High School where she was part of the Madrigals. Mary Lee graduated from the University of Kansas with a business degree. She was the Secretary for Whitson School, Secretary for the Shawnee County Commissioners and worked as a Real Estate Agent for Shields Real Estate.
Mary Lee was a member of First United Methodist Church for over sixty years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Frank W. Bures and husband Virgil L. Shields.
Survivors include, Lyle Maddux, Topeka; son, Stephen G. Bures and his wife Mary, Tinley Park, IL; granddaughters, Kristin Conklin and her husband Richard, Chicago, IL; Kelley Markowicz and her husband Jason, New Lenox, IL; cousin, Jo Ann Mayes, Oklahoma City, OK.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2005 in Klasse Chapel at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Maddux will lie in state after 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
