Mary K. Wilson

Mary K. "Katie" Wilson, 76, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2007 at a Topeka hospital. She was born on March 8, 1931 in Topeka, the fifth child of Charles A. and Mary Murphy Hoover. She was a life-long Topeka resident. She graduated from Hayden High School in 1949 and attended Clark's Business School. She was employed by Hallmark Card Company for 3 1/2 years. She then was a computer operator for the Santa Fe Railroad for 31 years before retiring in 1983 because of ill health. Katie married Thomas Wilson on November 12, 1949 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2000. Katie was also preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. Survivors include one son, Thomas C. Wilson, II of Topeka, one grandson, Colin Charles and one great-grandson, Corbin. Cremation has taken place. No memorial services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Kansas Museum of History, 6425 S.W. 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66615. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
