Mary Jo (Keeler) (Wyre) Snyder, 79, Carbondale, has gone on to meet her Lord on March 12, 2014. She was born on January 8, 1935, one of three children, to Charles and Cora Keeler.
She graduated from Alma High School in 1952. On October 12, 1952 she married Billy Dean Wyre in McFarland, Kansas. From this marriage she had three children: Debra Jo Cain, Rexford Dean Wyre and Susan Crouse.
Her husband Billy Dean Wyre passed away July 18, 1974. Mary Jo worked for her uncle, George Hastings, at Bank Builders Construction as well as Blaylock Drugs and Josten's, from which she retired in 1997.
Mary Jo married Milton Snyder in September of 1980. With this marriage she gained two step-daughters, Wanda White (Stan) and Karen Snyder.
Her hobbies included camping, fishing, gardening and canning vegetables from her & Milton's garden. She was also active with the Girl Scouts when her children were young.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and father of her three children (Billy Dean Wyre), a grandson (James Everitt) and a great-grandson (Brayden Wyre).
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband (Milton Snyder), her three children Debra Cain (Duane), Rexford Wyre (Becky) and Susan Crouse. She is also survived by a brother Glenn (Tammie) Keeler and two step-daughters, Wanda White (Stan) and Karen Snyder. She leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren (with another on the way), many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Private graveside services will follow. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The American Cancer Society, Helping Hands Humane Society and Grace Hospice.
