Mary Frances "Fraf" Gray Davis, 84, Topeka, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at a local hospital.

She was born January 1, 1921 in Topeka, the daughter of Paul J. and Genevieve Searle Stubbs. She is a grand daughter of former Kansas Governor Walter Roscoe Stubbs. She spent her early years in Lawrence and Ottawa, returning to Topeka in 1937. Mary Frances graduated from Topeka High School in 1938 and attended Washburn University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.

Mrs. Davis was employed by the Columbian Title and Trust Company and by the Topeka Board of Education. She was a member of Junior League, Kappa Alpha Theta Alumni, Group XI of Stormont Vail Hospital Auxiliary and First Congregational Church.

Mary Frances married Clark A. Gray in 1945. He died in 1970. She married Charles W. "Bill" Davis in 1981. He died in 1997.

Mrs. Davis is survived by two sons: Paul A. Gray and his wife, Jean, and Philip S. Gray and wife, Martha, all of Topeka; a sister, Suzanne Stubbs Erickson, Whidbey Island, WA; two stepsons, Jeff Davis, Lawrence and Tim Davis, Topeka; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Mount Hope Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Davis will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 P.M. on Monday.
