Mary D. Haney

Mary D. Haney, 86, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008, at her home. She was born March 6, 1922, in N. Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Mamie and Logan Young. She worked for the State of Kansas for over ten years and was a member of Gage Park Baptist Church. She married Clyde W. Haney on February 12, 1941, in Lawrence. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2000. Survivors include her daughter, Jill Roesler and her husband Robert of Topeka; two sons, David Haney and his wife Ginny of Longmont, CO, and Daniel Haney of Topeka; and two granddaughters, Shannon and Sarah Roesler. Her family and her friends at church and Atria will miss her dearly.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery in Topeka. Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Gage Park Baptist Church in Topeka. Mrs. Haney will lie in state after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gage Park Baptist Church, 3601 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604.
