Mary Bobb Hunt, 85, Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at a local care center.
Mary was born May 15, 1924 in Okmulgee, OK the daughter of Karl R. and Hazel M. (Martin) Bobb.
She graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute, Washburn University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and Kansas University with a Master's Degree in Fine Arts.
She was a member of Women's Circle at Trinity Presbyterian Church, and past member of Weaver's Guild and PEO.
She was a Staff artist with the Kansas City Star newspaper from 1944-1946; an Instructor of Sculpture at the Kansas City Art Institute from 1947-1950; and a Teacher of Art at the secondary level in the Topeka-501 school district from 1968-1975.
Mary married James W. Hunt on January 20, 1946 in Kansas City, KS. He survives. Other survivors include daughters: Jackie Banner, Frederick, MD, Merrie Lewis, Hoyt, Cheryl Marcoux Callahan, Manhattan, Sharlene Hunt Ellentuck, Roosevelt, NJ; ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and no public services are planned.
Visitation with Mary's family will be Sunday, May 24, 2009 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at an open house celebrating her life at the Hunt family residence.
