Mary L. Beavin, 60, of Topeka, passed away, Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at her home. She was born April 4, 1945 in South Dakota, the daughter of Joseph and Edith Blair Donahoe.
She graduated from Bishop Miege High School in Kansas City and received her nursing degree from St. Mary's College in Leavenworth.
Mary was a nurse in Labor and Delivery at St. Francis Hospital for over 20 years. Most recently she enjoyed working in private practice.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Austin H. Beavin, on September 4, 2003 and a son, John M. Grady on January 10, 1987.
She is survived by a daughter, Kerry Grady Sullivan, Weymouth, MA; two step-daughters, Jennifer Gurule, Westminster, CO; Cindy Underhill, Auburn; five grandchildren; Brielle, Mark Jr., Hannah, James Michael and Rachael; and a brother, Tom Donahoe, Overland Park.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 31, 2005 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Beavin will lie in state after 1:00 P.M. on Sunday at Penwell-Gable Mid-Town Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 5:30 P.M. followed by a visitation from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M.
