MARY ANN PENN, 69, Bartlett, Texas, formerly of Topeka, passed away peacefully in Temple, Texas, June 29, 2004, surrounded by her family.
Mary Ann was born April 26, 1935, in Buna, Texas, to Noel and Mary Jane Cochran. She was educated as a Registered Nurse at Hotel Dieu, Beaumont, Texas, and dedicated over 20 years of her life to the medical profession., working both at The Menninger Foundation and Memorial Hospital, Topeka, Kansas. Mary Ann most recently co-owned Mary-Mary Antiques, a beautiful antique store in Bartlett, Texas with her loving niece, Mary Ellen Johnson.
She married George M. Penn, in 1956. She later married James Bump, in 1982. He preceded her in death. She married Donald Eastland, of Hillsboro, Texas, in January 2004. He survives.
Mary Ann is survived by her four children, Mark Penn, Cindi Buck, Russell Penn and David Penn; four grandchildren., Natalie Penn, Rachel Buck, Elliot Buck, and Olivia Penn; two sisters, Claudia Green and Yvonne Denman; and many extended family members.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Penwell-Gabel Midtown Chapel where visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mary Ann was an avid gardener, a wonderful cook and enjoyed literature and classical music. This graceful and kind woman will be remembered as a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. Because of her love of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Topeka Parks and Recreation Foundation (Reinisch Rose Garden) 201 NW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 66603.
Resting in peace, Mary Ann will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends who were blessed to have her in their lives.
