Mary Adolphson

Mary Juanita (Tevis) Adolphson, 92, of Topeka, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at a Topeka care facility. She was born on May 2, 1912 in Richland, Ks., the daughter of Charles Albert and Estella Jane Williams Tevis. She was an avid gardner and spaded her own garden until she was 90. She married Vernon E. Adolphson in 1930. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Willis, Roy, Boyd and Lee. Survivors include one son, Vern Leroy of Carbondale, sister, Lois Rice of Wichita and brother, LaVerne Tevis of Ottawa, many nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Brookwood Covenant Church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Adolphson will lie in state after Noon Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Heart of America Hospice, 3715 S.W. 29th St., Topeka, Ks. 66614.
