Marvin H. Rodehorst, 91, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2011.
He was born August 30, 1919 in Palmer, KS, the son of Henry and Hilda Meier Rodehorst. Marvin was an Army veteran of WWII. He was employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 35 years before retiring in 1981. He later was employed by Holiday Inn West for over 10 years before retiring in 1992. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Marvin married Ella E. Lehenbauer on April 3, 1945 in Palmer, KS. She survives. Other survivors include their children; Gary Rodehorst of St. Augustine, FL, Allen Rodehorst of Topeka, Glenda (Dave J.) Schmidtlein of Topeka, 5 grandchildren, Shanon, Matt, Jeremy, Laura and Jeff and 3 great-grandchildren, Carson, Logan and Owen. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman and Martin and two sisters, Edna Brueggeman and Dora Brooks.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Marvin will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
