Marvin G. Dyck, 90, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at a local care center.
Marvin was born July 9, 1921 in Newton, the son of Gustav and Agnes (Schmitt) Dyck. He graduated from Newton High School and received his Bachelor's degree from Bethel College and a Masters degree from the University of Kansas.
He was employed by the State of Kansas, Department of Health & Environment, Water Microbiology Laboratory, for over 40 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of First Congregational Church and the Lions Club.
Marvin married Gertrude Elizabeth Hohmann on April 9, 1949 in North Newton. She survives. Other survivors include daughter, Beth Schafer and husband, Todd; and granddaughters, Elizabeth Edwina Schafer and Anne Marie Schafer, all of Topeka. He was preceded in death by brothers, Theodore and Norman Dyck.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at First Congregational Church.
