Marvin Clem Brunker, 89, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born on September 19, 1918 in Stockdale, KS, the son of Clem H. and Martha Carnahan Brunker. Marvin had resided in Topeka since the age of 8. He graduated from Seaman High School. He was an Army veteran of WWII serving in the European Theater and the Korean War. Marvin was a Certified Dental Technician until his retirement. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion. He enjoyed boating and golf. Marvin married Eunice McCarty on May 15, 1944 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include daughters Nancy Carpenter and Susan Willard (Dan) of Lenexa, his grandchildren Troy Willard (Jessica), Wade Willard (Susan) of Overland Park, Thad Carpenter (Marlee) and Jayme Carpenter of Manhattan and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Gail Cross of Eskridge and brother, Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his brother, Everett Brunker. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Central Presbyterian Church, 920 S.W. Huntoon. Cremation will follow services. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery. Marvin will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice Care, 200 S.W.
